17/93: Summer

It’s July 7 today. And we’re approaching the middle of summer (at least in these parts). A moment of sadness swept over me when I realized this. Already in the middle of summer? Then I realized how much fun we’ve had. And how much fun we have left!

Daughter and I spent three days up north with my Mom. We went swimming, hit the playground, had walleye right on the water and had ice cream in Nisswa. Daughter has (almost) learned to ride her bike. We saw fireworks. We’ve had dinner outside a dozen times. We’ve been swimming in a pool, in a lake, at a splash pad. We’ve explored the playgrounds in our new neighborhood. We’ve welcomed the ice cream truck every Tuesday promptly at 6pm.

And what’s left? We have a trip to the north shore planned. A weekend at the Grandparents. Many more Friday afternoon playdates with friends at splash pads, at the beach and at Grandma’s pool. We have visits to be made to the dog park. And field trips to experience at school. We have State Fair to look forward to and kindergarten to plan for.

And then sadly, it will be fall. But hooray, then it will be fall!

Until then, I’m enjoying every last minute of this summer. Are you?
